PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project combines “Zentrale” what is the administrative centre of our organization and Environmental Education Project – UBZ with youngsters from schools in Berlin. In Zentrale, we develop and implement local, national and international Erasmus+ projects in the field of non-formal and informal education, cooperation, music or urban youth culture. In UBZ project activities are mostly focused on work with school-age youngsters in the topic of environment and healthy gastronomy that why for this part basic German is necessary. The volunteer will support these both projects. A side assignment is also to support daily tasks in the office. If you have knowledge of art design, web design or others, you can use your abilities with our website, flyers video or audio production of our projects. ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
We provide an apartment very close to the project. You will have your own bedroom and shared common spaces with other volunteers. It will be provided with the equipment for comfortable living such as a complete kitchen, full bedroom and home furniture, central heating and Wi-Fi. For meal during work, you will have the opportunity to cook in the kitchen office as well. A monthly grant of money about 460€ will be given (including food, transportation (monthly ticket for public transport in the city) and pocket money). You will have an option to use a bike.
TRAINING DURING THE PROJECT
You will be offered annual access to the Online Linguistic Support platform to improve your German skills. An option to attend to language school course may be offered during the year. You will participate in an On-arrival and Mid-term training seminar, organised by the German National Agency. Also, we will offer you continuous support during the volunteer year, with meetings with your mentor and your tutor. Also, the staff of the project will be extra support and will guide you more specifically throughout the daily activities.
VOLUNTEER PROFILE
We are looking for one motivated volunteer, able to adapt to different tasks, cultures, situations and to work in the team but also independently. The volunteer should be a person with interest to learn about project development, work of a social organisation and direct work with youngsters. Interests or knowledge in creative fields such as design, video, the audio will be appreciated. Most of the activities are in morning shift but must be flexible and be available for the different projects schedules. Due to the profile of the project, good skills in English and basic in German are required.
